Prometheus Prosthetics
COSTING || BRANDING || TEAM PROJECT Prometheus Prosthetics was a 3-month project/competition I completed for the University of Houston. My team and I were tasked with creating a business proposal and investment pitch for a mock startup company. After completion of the project, our proposal (along with 20 others) would be sent for review to the Wolff Center of Entrepreneurship. At WCE, student investors would evaluate each proposal, and invest allotted funds into the companies they saw most promising. Our startup was a 3D printing company that focused on making reliable and affordable prosthetics. Prometheus Prosthetics would work directly with doctors and patients in and around the Houston area, and we would offer a wide range of 3D printing services. Prometheus Prosthetics received more individual investments than any other proposal. We were awarded over $300,000 in startup funding, the most of any team in the competition. To create Prometheus Prosthetics, our team spent time contacting local doctors and physical therapists, interviewing patients, and even touring a 3D printing manufacturer. I really believe our effort to learn about the industry, and our attention to the finer details of running this type of business propelled us to success in this competition. In our business proposal, we cover topics from company mission and sales goals, to floor plans and budgeted hourly rates. You can view our final proposal below, along with company branding/logos and our initial video pitch.
